2011 Principio Furnace Hammer In

The hammer in will be held on October 15th, the event starts at 9 a.m. and will go to 4 p.m. Our demonstrator is Jim Kiefer, an extremely talented blacksmith from Honeybrook, PA. Jim will be demonstrating traditional blacksmithing, 18th century hardware, and tooling he uses for the Champion power hammer.

There is no cost to attend, however we request that you bring a tool, book, handmade item, or appropriate donation for the Iron in the Hat raffle. All proceeds from the raffle go to the demonstration and the Blacksmiths Guild of Central Maryland. We will break for lunch and the raffle around 11:00. This is an informal type of event. Come on out to have a great time, learn more about the craft of blacksmithing, and take home a great raffle item! Hopefully!
