Creation of the Dogwood Railing

There is nothing more satisfying as an artist than standing back, looking at a finished project and enjoying the result of hundreds of hours of work. Such was the case recently, as I installed 60 feet of railing along a cobblestone pathway. These photos show a few of the many details that were put into this project.dogwood-hot.jpg

There are approximately 380 leaves in all of the trees.

After we were done all of the forging and fabrication, we then sent the railing out to be powder coated in a Matte Black finish. I will post photos of the finished railing soon. The house and walkway have been professionally photographed and may soon appear in a Dream Homes book.

  1. Wow, Matt, those are a lot of flowers! How many do you make at a time?

  2. I make the whole batch at one time, in steps, and then assemle them. It took about a week to make all of the Dogwood flowers.
