Over the years Matthew has envisioned this design and about a year ago this vision was finally created into a masterpiece from the artist. It features every custom detail that Harris Metalsmith Studio specializes in. These details include traditional mortis and tenon joinery, pass through scrolls, rivets, collars, and hand forged life like organic elements. The gates are 13 ft. wide and ready for installation. They have a custom powder coat finish, which is the hardiest finish to withstand outdoor weather. These forged driveway gates were installed by Harris Metalsmith Studio in 2008 for a private residence in Delaware. They are 16 feet wide, with a finished height of 8 feet in the center. Three forged iron trees fill most of the framework, while the bottom features water infilled with swimming fish. Many of the branches are accompanied by birds. Also included in the design is a squirrel, turtle, and three flying birds. This was a challenging but very rewarding project.
